GBIC Comments on EBA Consultation Paper (EBA/CP/2024/04) RTS RRAO

It is good that the EBA is implementing in good time its consultation on rules for instruments serving to hedge against trading book positions, which may result in residual risks. It is crucial for the functionality of hedging services and the competitiveness of EU banks that the exemptions provided for can be applied in practice. The GBIC is in favour of further suitable examples of financial instruments that are used in practice. This would, however, require an amendment to the EBA’s proposal.
