European Banking Industry Committee (EBIC)
The European Banking Industry Committee (EBIC) was established on 15 January 2004 by the following seven European banking associations:
- European Banking Federation (EBF)
- European Savings Banks Group (ESBG)
- European Association of Cooperative Banks (EACB)
- European Mortgage Federation (EMF)
- European Federation of Building Societies (EFBS)
- European Association of Public Banks (EAPB)
- Eurofinas / Leaseurope
Through this common European platform, the members of EBIC aim to:
- formulate and represent coordinated positions of the European credit sector on current EU financial services initiatives;
- provide advice to the EU institutions as well as European and international bodies by drawing on their technical and professional expertise; and
- operate as contacts for these institutions and bodies in order to facilitate cooperation and thus strengthen dialogue.
