SCHUL/BANKER – the Association of German Banks’ student competition is awarded the Comenius Seal of Approval

Comenius-Siegel1 July 2010 – SCHUL/BANKER, the Association of German Banks’ business game, has this year been awarded the Comenius Seal of Approval. This is a seal of quality issued by the Society for Pedagogy and Information (Gesellschaft für Pädagogik und Information, GPI), an academic society for media didactics and educational technology, for didactic multimedia products of outstanding educational value, content and design. Comenius awards have been conferred for fifteen years and have established themselves as the most prestigious prize for internet applications, CD-ROMs and other information technology-based teaching media.

SCHUL/BANKER is a business game in which teams of students take over the management of a virtual bank and make all the decisions required to run the business. Over 50,000 young people have taken part to date.

The next game will kick off on 8 November 2010. Teams must register by 30 September 2010. SCHUL/BANKER is open to students in grades 10 to 13 at German secondary schools. In some federal states, the game is recognised as part of the final secondary-school examinations.
